FACULTY AND STAFF
In line with one of the Hong Kong Academy’s key Founding Principles the school seeks to recruit staff which support its aim of diversity.
Staff are recruited from around the world based on their skills, experience, and future potential. A desire to teach, grow, and be innovative, are critical attributes that are sought and nurtured.
All lead teachers at the school hold Education degrees and are certified in their home country for the age group and subject that they teach. 50% hold graduate degrees and a further 15% are currently engaged in further study. Our co-teachers are a multi-talented group with 80% holding teaching degrees and teaching certification.
The school places enormous implementation on the ongoing professional development of its whole staff. Each staff member is provided with an individual professional development allowance in addition to an on-going school program of curriculum and professional development.
Hong Kong Academy has entered into a partnership agreement with Lehigh University, of Bethlehem, Penn. (USA), to offer onsite graduate courses in Hong Kong to further enhance staff professional development opportunities. It is hoped that the onsite courses in Hong Kong will commence in Spring 2008.
