ACTIVITIES

Extracurricular activities at Hong Kong Academy offer an important balance to academic work and a chance for students to explore and cultivate personal interests. Hong Kong Academy’s extracurricular program supports the school’s student learner outcomes. By enabling students to participate in activities and be exposed to information not covered in the school’s formal curriculum, the program creates opportunities for them to be risk-takers and balanced.
Students participate in a variety of after school activities including art, cooking, yoga, and chess. They also have the opportunity to participate in school choir and a range of sporting activities including basketball, cricket, running club, soccer and Tae Kwon Do.

Camp
Each year students from Year 3 and up attend outdoor education camp located in Hong Kong. Over a period of between 3 to 5 days, students focus on survival skills, team building, and personal responsibility. It is the belief within the school community that this experience helps to foster balanced students with increased levels of confidence.

Extended Trips
As a culminating experience the oldest students take a class trip to a location outside Hong Kong. Past purposes of this trip included utilizing their Mandarin language skills outside of the school environment and explore the rich cultural heritage of China.
